This summer, 大秀视频鈥檚 libraries and National Trust Croome are teaming up to offer families an unforgettable experience of reading, creativity, and outdoor play, with an exciting programme of Summer Reading Challenge events and the National Trust鈥檚 Summer of Play.
From 18 to 22 August, the enchanting grounds of Croome will transform into a story-filled wonderland as part of the Summer Reading Challenge. This year鈥檚 theme, 鈥淪tory Garden,鈥 comes alive with library staff bringing nature-inspired Storytimes to spark imagination, set against the breathtaking backdrop of one of 大秀视频鈥檚 most beautiful heritage sites. Plus, don鈥檛 miss your chance to meet the lovable Bookstart Bear!
Councillor Ian Cresswell, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Environment and Communities 大秀视频 at 大秀视频 County Council said: 鈥淭his partnership shows how libraries and heritage sites can come together to inspire the next generation. These free family activities spark imagination, build confidence, and foster a love of reading and the environment.鈥
Children aged 4鈥11 can join this year鈥檚 Summer Reading Challenge at their local library from 5 July. After reading four books, children will receive a special free entry pass to Croome for themselves and one accompanying adult! Complete all six books to earn a medal and certificate.
All Summer Reading Challenge sessions and events are free to attend. Please note, normal admission charges apply at Croome for visitors who do not qualify for the free entry pass.
Before the Summer Reading Challenge, the National Trust鈥檚 "Summer of Play" returns with a pop-up event at the Hive, Worcester on 28 June from 11am to 3pm, focusing on bugs and biodiversity with themed games and creative activities. A second pop-up session will be held at The Hive on 12 July. Activities include nature-inspired crafts, interactive games like 鈥淗ook-a-Bug,鈥 and collaborative art projects celebrating the "Story Garden" theme.
