Biodiversity Priorities and Potential Measures (DRAFT)

Explore the proposed Biodiversity Priorities and the suggested Potential Measures for the draft LNRS in more detail.

The LNRS must set out:

  • agreed local Biodiversity Priorities for nature recovery in ´óÐãÊÓƵ which will include priorities for habitats, species, and environmental issues of particular importance for the county
  • on-the-ground actions which, if delivered, will help to achieve nature recovery in ´óÐãÊÓƵ, these actions are called ‘Potential Measures’

´óÐãÊÓƵ LNRS Priorities and Potential Measures

The Biodiversity Priorities and Potential Measures within the ´óÐãÊÓƵ LNRS are organised into seven themes, which are:

  1. water and wetlands
  2. trees, scrub and woodland
  3. open habitats
  4. habitat connectivity
  5. earth heritage
  6. green infrastructure
  7. species

A detailed set of Biodiversity Priority Data Sheets can be seen here:

This data is available to show the relationship between the proposed Biodiversity Priorities, the suggested Potential Measures, the wider environmental co-benefits they will deliver, and how Biodiversity Net Gain can be consistent with the habitat creation and enhancement the mapped measures are seeking to incentivise.

Comment on the wording of Potential Measures

As part of the public consultation, you can comment on the suggested wording of both mapped and non-mapped Potential Measures. You can comment on as few or as many Potential Measures as you want. We suggest that you view the Biodiversity Priority Data Sheets [LINK TO ADD] before commenting to view the Potential Measures in the context of the theme(s) they sit within.
